The Ragnar Trail So-Cal Black Loop is no joke! It has been created to test even the most serious trail runners.
After following the Green Loop for approximately a mile out of Ragnar Village, the Black Loop only goes up from there, literally. With a combination of single and double-track trails, the Black Loop leads you up a path to the highest point in San Diego County. On the way there you will get some of the most beautiful views of the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation. From the highest point, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Take a deep breath in and ready yourself for the second half of the course. "Mostly" downhill you can let gravity do it's job and enjoy the scenes. At around 14-ish miles, you'll link back up with the Red Loop and enjoy some great twisty and turny single-track back to the finish line. Don't skimp on training, because you will need it for this course!
