Start on the path next to the bridge from the main Buttermilk parking lot. Run through the lower parking lot, up the hill, and around Treman Lake before returning on the same course. This route eliminates the 1.25-mile loop around the flat Larch Meadow field trail at the start of the race, and it now goes around Lake Treman to avoid the washed-out bridge at the top.
